ALPHETON PARISH COUNCIL
VACANCIES FOR NEW COUNCILLORS
Would you like to be more involved in your local Community by joining us at our Parish Council meetings held every two months?
Alpheton Parish Council has a vacancy for the post of councillor. The Council is legally obliged to advertise this vacancy under the Representation of the People Act 1985.
You can apply to be a parish councillor if:-
- on that day you are and continue to be an elector for the parish; or
- during the whole of the previous 12 months have occupied as owner/tenant any land or other premises in that area; or
- your principal or only place of work during that 12 months has been in that area; or
- have resided in, or within three miles of, the Parish for the past twelve months
At our meetings we discuss a variety of topics on issues relating to both Alpheton and Bridge Street including planning, speeding, road conditions, looking after the local area and more.
This is a good opportunity to get to know what your Parish Council can do for you and how we can help and look after your community.
We have six members and are keen to recruit one more to cover the needs of the two Villages. If you are interested in the well-being of your community and would like to speak to a member of the council about joining us, please contact one of the following council members or visit the Parish Council website https://alpheton.onesuffolk.net/parish-council/
Madeline Gray, Chair – madeline.gray18@gmail.com

All applications will be considered by the current parish councillors and it is hoped that the co-opted councillor will be appointed after the meeting on 28 November 2024.
