As far as is known, all householders in Alpheton excluding Bridge Street may now place orders with BT for the FTTP (Fibre To The Premises) BT Infinity package of their choice. There are several BT Infinity packages to choose from ranging from 38 to 300Mbps download speeds. Fortunately there is no inferior FTTC (Fibre To The Cabinet) service over copper in Alpheton because there is no fibre cabinet. At present BT are the only realistic choice for providing FTTP. When the order is placed, BT/Openreach will blow fibre all the way into your premises free of charge. Contact Trevor Rix trevor@trevorrix.co.uk for more information and advice. There is an email group with over 30 participants where the progress of orders for FTTP are discussed. Unfortunately Bridge Street will have to wait as long as 2018 for an enhanced broadband service.
